Baschurch Village Hall has completed a major energy upgrade designed to make the community facility warmer, more efficient and less exposed to volatile energy prices. Why the hall needed an upgrade

The Covid-19 pandemic also halted activities at the venue, leaving the building dependent on financial support from Shropshire Council. After activities resumed, the committee began examining ways to reduce the hall’s reliance on energy markets and improve its long-term resilience.

Work started in November 2025. Contractors removed the old boiler, radiators and lighting, as well as the remaining single-glazed windows and inefficient doors and frames.
